Document Control Specialist

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, seeks a Document Control Specialist to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Specialist is responsible for managing the company's change order process as well as the archiving, maintenance, and improvement of various quality records. This position will also support the Quality Assurance team by ensuring that these processes conform to the requirements of the Lucigen quality management system.

The Document Control Specialist will have responsibility to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Document Generation and Record Maintenance
  • Ensure that appropriate approvers are assigned to a new or revised document
  • Ensure the regular, timely, and accurate scanning of quality records
  • Assist production scientists in drafting and reviewing new and revised manufacturing documents (BHR's and related technical SOP's) and assist QA team members in maintaining and improving the effectiveness of these documents
  • Assist new product development teams and QA in establishing, maintaining, and managing device master records
  • Assist QA in the development and deployment of quality system document templates as assigned
  • Draft the content of quality system documents as assigned
Process Coordination
  • Coordinate the change order process in cooperation with authorized change order initiators
  • Assist in the review of a new or revised document before it is submitted or routed for approval; the review will emphasize clarity, impact of the change order on related or linked documents, and conformance to Lucigen's procedures
  • Ensure that change order initiators and approvers are considering training issues appropriately
  • Execute specific change orders on assigned documents
Quality Management System (QMS) Support
  • Coordinate with QA team members on the maintenance and improvement of nonconformance investigations, equipment qualification, supplier qualification
  • Assist the management representative for Lucigen's QMS in championing the implementation and continuing effectiveness of the QMS
  • Assist the management representative in reporting to top management on the performance and integrity of the QMS and needs for improvement, and promoting awareness of regulatory and customer requirements throughout the organization
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the natural sciences or related technical field
  • At least two years' experience in a document and records control or technical writing/grant writing role in the life science industry (e.g. biotechnology reagent and kit manufacturing, medical device, in vitro molecular diagnostic, biopharmaceutical, or clinical research companies)
  • Understanding of 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485 requirements for the control of documents and quality records and how to apply the principles in the Lucigen quality management system
  • Working knowledge of contributing to and implementing risk-based decisions in the quality system
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in technical and/or procedural writing; experience may include writing complaint or nonconformance investigations, validation reports, audit reports and other similar quality records

Senior Facilities Manager

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, has an opportunity for a Senior Facilities Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Manager is responsible for providing experienced leadership and oversight to the facilities team and ensures infrastructure is in place to support 24/7 operation of the facilities, including compliance to EHS and quality systems (ISO 13485) standards, and planned business growth. This position works with site/facility leadership at other LGC sites to ensure the best overall solutions for the business.

The Senior Facilities Manager will have responsibility for providing an energetic and team-focused environment to meet or exceed organizational objectives as follows:

Operational Expertise
  • Lead and coordinate the planning, design, and execution of facility maintenance, renovation and alteration projects that support building and equipment maintenance, the changing needs of research, manufacturing and distribution activities, and facility modernization initiatives
  • Oversee office and lab remodeling projects, including furniture, equipment, utilities and system specification, installation and qualification
  • Manage complex, deadline-driven facility projects, working with external vendors and internal stakeholders, which may include leading the relocation of existing office and lab equipment
  • Develop, maintain, and report project schedules and budgets from planning through project closeout
Leadership
  • Direct the facilities team and external partners to manage the operation and maintenance of site equipment procurement, qualification, calibration, monitoring, asset management, and preventive maintenance program, including capital plan development, budget management and cost controls

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years' supervisory or management experience with building management and/or maintenance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or life sciences (biology, biochemistry, genomics) and at least 5 years' experience managing complex facility operations and projects in a biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical company
  • Demonstrated success managing outside vendors and contractors
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining facilities of 50,000 square feet or larger, including remodeling, moving, and expansions
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver laboratory and office facility projects within specified timelines and budget, including construction, refurbishment, and design projects

Protein Purification Scientist

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, has an opportunity for a Protein Purification Scientist to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. This individual is responsible for the production and development of proteins and molecular biology reagents focused on molecular biology and next generation sequencing (NGS) applications. The Scientist is expected to initiate and complete routine procedures, troubleshoot scientific problems, and interpret the outcomes of experiments in an independent and efficient manner.

Technical Experience
  • Purify recombinant proteins from different expression systems

Distribution Manager

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, seeks a Distribution Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Manager is responsible for hands-on management of the company's receiving, product dispensing, packaging, and shipping processes and related material management. This individual will supervise receiving, dispensing, packaging and shipping personnel and manage relationships with external vendors and agencies.

The Distribution Manager will have responsibility for providing an energetic and team-focused environment to meet or exceed organizational objectives as follows:

Materials Management
  • Establish and execute production plans for receiving, dispensing, packaging, and shipping that ensure on-time delivery while minimizing on-hand inventory
  • Ensure that materials are appropriately received and inventoried, including appropriate inspections, and products are correctly dispensed, packaged, labeled, inventoried, stored, and shipped
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the production, sales, and marketing groups to ensure adequate product inventory that is sufficient to meet anticipated orders, minimize out-of-stock possibilities, and avoid product waste due to exceeding shelf life
Leadership
  • Lead the shipping and receiving team in providing effective, on-time results in a manner compliant with Lucigen's ISO 13485 quality systems
  • Manage communication and contracts with outside shipping agencies and regulatory agencies associated with domestic and international shipments

Inside Sales Manager

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, is looking for an Inside Sales Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Manager will play a lead role in supporting the entire sales organization by implementing programs and managing the entire customer buying journey and supporting efforts. This individual will lead customer-focused efforts and programs in collaboration with an energetic team of field sales and business development professionals to create and drive Lucigen's sales opportunities in targeted regions and/or accounts. The Inside Sales Manager will have responsibility for providing direction and focus to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Collaborative Leadership
  • Contribute actively to commercial & marketing initiatives/opportunities, especially those initiatives focused on driving incremental business growth
  • Design, implement, and manage processes that allow the team to effectively cover both inbound and outbound calls; activities include engaging with existing customers and inbound qualified sales leads, guiding customers to the products that best meet needs, and coordinating with internal team to address customer questions or objections
  • Ensure the effective use of sales process and approved product marketing and promotion materials

Senior Scientist, Bioinformatics

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, has an opportunity for a Senior (Sr.) Scientist, Bioinformatics to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Sr. Scientist will engage with a global multi-disciplinary organization to provide knowledge leadership in our sequencing services and product development initiatives. While serving as a key contributor to NGS data analysis, the Sr. Scientist will also participate in driving organizational thinking around bioinformatics and analysis pipeline development to meet roadmap objectives across the entire portfolio in molecular analysis.

The Sr. Scientist, Bioinformatics will have responsibility for providing direction and focus to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Innovation and Product Commercialization
  • Collaborate with product management and R&D leadership in developing program goals and objectives across the Genomics business unit
  • Serve as cross-functional subject-matter expert in product/pipeline development from feasibility to market launch
  • Collaborate with business and operational leaders to assess new technology and new product or process capabilities, matching them to the needs of the company

Inside Sales Representative

Lucigen seeks a self-motivated and attentive team player to serve as an inside sales representative leading customer onboarding, customer support, and customer satisfaction efforts for Lucigen's products and services. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely and in collaboration with Field Sales and B2B team to enhance working relationships with key accounts
  • Assist in profiling accounts and generating leads; collaborate effectively with the entire sales organization to bring potential opportunities to closure
  • Effectively handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and triage to appropriate sales rep or manager when necessary
  • Follow up on new customer leads, sample requests, webinars and tradeshow leads to ensure touch point with all customers for cross selling ("warm up" leads for Field Sales)

  • Provide interim territory coverage as a sales representative as needed within assigned region
  • Support Marketing, Field Sales, and the B2B team with necessary technical and business content to create a competitive differentiation and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectation
  • Capture voice of customer and share with appropriate stakeholders (marketing, R&D, sales, etc.); establish and maintain ongoing communication and operational mechanisms to ensure collaboration and exchange of appropriate information (customer insights, market trends, and competitive data)
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive relationships with customers, including management and purchasing contacts; nurture and grow client relationships at the appropriate levels
  • Leverage marketing resources, such as flyers, posters, application notes, and other applicable materials, to heighten customer's awareness of Lucigen's products and services
  • Manage opportunities using CRM to document customer information and track opportunities
  • Provide general intelligence on key competitors
  • Organize and host client visits as required
  • In partnership with Marketing, support initiatives for social selling and outbound projects, including but not limited to LinkedIn, e-blasts, tradeshows, and (web) conferences; may attend tradeshows and conferences as required from time to time
  • Work with Manager on customer-focused initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the inside sales team
  • Provide interim territory coverage as a sales representative within assigned region as needed

This position requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service. Additional requirements include:

  • Experience in the life science industry preferred
  • Demonstrated skill set in effective sales process and deal closure
  • Proven, effective time management, reporting , prioritization and delegation skills
  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills to drive successful relationship building
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience reporting and tracking sales metrics
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably using Microsoft Dynamics GP, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and a CRM system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills; ability to effectively listen, acknowledge, and show calm when dealing with customers and company personnel on all level issues/complaints
  • High-energy and positive "can-do" approach when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills while working under pressure
  • Ability to work autonomously and to travel as needed
  • Aptitude to work in a complex and rapidly growing company
  • Results-oriented, ensuring targets are met on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated good professional judgment and reliability
