Bioanalytic Chemist

Lucigen Corporation, a member of the Great Lakes Biofuels Center (GLBRC) is seeking an Bioanalytic Chemist to play a key role in the development of cutting edge enzymes for the conversion of biomass to ethanol.

The successful candidate will apply their expertise to the analysis and evaluation of novel enzymes for the conversion of biomass to produce ethanol and other biofuels. The successful candidate will be able to perform routine enzyme assays as well as utilize chemical and HPLC methods to evaluate the  effectiveness of the enzymes  under process conditions. A working knowledge of chemical and biochemical assay methods for sugars, proteins, and enzyme activity is required. Competitive salary, benefits, and stock options.

Requirements:
 -BS degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related science, or equivalent experience in an industrial environment.
 -Analytical experience required. Experience performing aqueous phase HPLC preferred, preferably in a food or biofuels environment.
 -Sound analytical chemistry technique and computer skills required.
 -The desire and ability to be a team player and interact effectively with other people and projects within the company.
 -Demonstrated ability to function independently.
 -Ability to effectively present results in both written and oral presentations.
