Inside Sales Representative

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join our U.S. inside sales team. The Representative will assist the sales organization with customer-focused efforts and programs to create and drive opportunities in targeted regions and/or accounts and provide excellent support to new and existing customers.

The Inside Sales Representative will have responsibility to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Customer Focus
  • Work closely and in collaboration with Field Sales and B2B team to enhance working relationships with key accounts
  • Engage with existing customers and inbound qualified sales leads, and guide customers to the products that best meet needs
  • Support Marketing, Field Sales, and the B2B team with necessary technical and business content to create a competitive differentiation and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectation
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive relationships with customers, including management and purchasing contacts; nurture and grow client relationships at the appropriate levels
  • Provide interim territory coverage as a sales representative as needed within assigned region
  • Organize and host client visits as required
  • Work with Manager on customer-focused initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the inside sales team
Sales Development
  • Effectively handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and triage to appropriate sales rep or manager when necessary
  • Follow up on new customer leads, sample requests, webinars and tradeshow leads to ensure touch point with all customers for cross selling ("warm up" leads for Field Sales)
  • Assist in profiling accounts and generating leads; collaborate effectively with the entire sales organization to bring potential opportunities to closure
  • Cold-call (telephone) prospects generated by external sources, identify leads, and initiate contact to generate knowledge about landscape
  • Provide general intelligence on key competitors
  • In partnership with Marketing, support initiatives for social selling and outbound projects, including but not limited to LinkedIn, e-blasts, tradeshows, and (web) conferences; may attend tradeshows and conferences as required from time to time
Data Management
  • Capture voice of customer and share with appropriate stakeholders (marketing, R&D, sales, etc.); establish and maintain ongoing communication and operational mechanisms to ensure collaboration and exchange of appropriate information (customer insights, market trends, and competitive data)
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the customer database (CRM)
  • Manage opportunities using CRM to document customer information and track opportunities
  • Leverage marketing resources, such as flyers, posters, application notes, and other applicable materials, to heighten customer's awareness of Lucigen's products and services
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (preferred), Business, or Marketing
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service
  • Experience in the life science industry strongly preferred; specific areas of knowledge to focus on molecular biology
  • Demonstrated skill set in effective sales process and deal closure
  • Proven, effective time management, reporting , prioritization and delegation skills
  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills to drive successful relationship building
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience reporting and tracking sales metrics
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably using Salesforce.com CRM, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills; ability to effectively listen, acknowledge, and show calm when dealing with customers and company personnel on all level issues/complaints
  • High-energy and positive "can-do" approach when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills while working under pressure
  • Ability to work autonomously and to travel as needed
  • Aptitude to work in a complex and rapidly growing company
  • Results-oriented, ensuring targets are met on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated good professional judgment and reliability
  • High accuracy and detail-orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
