International Sales Coordinator

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for a driven International Sales Coordinator to join our Middleton team. The International Sales Coordinator provides administrative and management support to LGC, Biosearch Technologies' distribution network, both domestic and international, as well as support to international customers. This position requires excellent customer interaction with both internal and external customers.

The International Sales Coordinator will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Customer Focus
  • Provide support to internal and external customers as needed, spoken and in writing
  • Respond to distributors' inquiries regarding pricing, marketing tools, re-direct technical questions, or special projects such as logistics planning & preparations for distributor meetings
  • Work closely with internal departments (i.e. Operations, Shipping, Customer Service, etc.) to coordinate key initiatives in support of the customer and to achieve superior customer satisfaction
  • Organize and host client visits, or company events as required
  • Work with Global Distribution Director on customer-focused initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team
Communications Experience
  • Capture marketing and sales announcements, or corporate updates to develop monthly newsletter for distributors and distribute the newsletter in electronic format to entire distribution network
  • Prepare, edit, and post any other company announcements as necessary and organize information to improve and facilitate distributor access to information and tools as needed
  • Assist with product launch-related activities to ensure successful product launch through distribution channels and web portal partners
Organizational Skills
  • Organize and track information pertaining to distributor network, such as quarterly sales report, forecasts, marketing & sales annual plans; assist with the implementation and tracking of distributor report card assessment tool
  • Update price lists and distribute to channels accordingly
  • Assist with local or international trade/vendor shows, conferences, and events as needed
  • Assist supervisor with travel arrangements and other administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service role
  • Industry experience (life sciences, biotech) or experience working in a global organization preferred
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, prior exposure to supporting a team or group of people in an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal and listening skills; ability to effectively listen, acknowledge, and show calm when dealing with customers on all level issues/complaints

Staff Accountant

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will serve as primary point of contact for all aspects of grant accounting, internal R&D project accounting, payroll processing, and benefits administration. This individual will also assist the Finance Director and other members of the department with supporting other general ledger activities including actively participation in month-end close, all audits, and treasury management.

The Staff Accountant will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Accounting & Administrative Acumen
  • Works with employees and third-party payroll provider to process bi-weekly payroll
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of billings from benefit providers to payroll & GL to ensure accurate deductions are made
  • Performs all maintenance associate with employee's participation in company benefit plans, including 401(k)
  • Performs all duties associated with month-end close, including creation and posting of journal entries
  • Reconciles all bank accounts on a monthly basis
  • Performs all required transactions to ensure accurate grant accounting & internal R&D project accounting system
Attention to Detail
  • Performs administrative functions to ensure prompt and efficient setup of employee files—both electronic and hard copy—which includes setup of payroll, benefits, and filing of related information
  • Schedules and leads grant accounting & internal R&D project accounting meetings with PI's responsible for the grants
  • Reviews grant financials and approve prior to submission to ensure accuracy
  • Actively participates in all audits as necessary
  • Follows approved procedures and assists in writing new procedures according to a quality system that is compliant with ISO 13485 guidelines
Flexibility & Approachability
  • Serves as backup to the issuance and filing of customer invoices on a daily basis
  • Serves as backup to the application of all payments to customers' accounts on a timely basis
  • Serves as backup to assurance of monthly AR aging report agreeing to general ledger by following proper month-end procedures
  • Serves as backup for processing all checks received via mail daily; initiates discussions with internal team to ensure mail is efficiently processed
  • Serves as backup to purchasing activities
  • Supports other members of the department by providing backup service as necessary
Integrity of Records & Data
  • Responsible for calculation and submission of materials for indirect and F&A rate calculations required for grant activity at Lucigen
  • Responsible for developing a system and reporting structure to track indirect rate for grant activity on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for compliance with all federal and state laws, NIH & USDA grant reporting and filing regulations, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and Lucigen's quality system
  • Maintains record retention for AR and backup to AP invoice and adherence to required record keeping
Minimum Qualifications
  • College degree in accounting or a related field and at least three years' work experience in full-cycle accounting
  • At least three years of progressively more responsible experience in comparable positions; experience must be in full-cycle accounting in a manufacturing, biotechnology, or life science company
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aptitude to work in a complex and rapidly growing company
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal guidance or supervision
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines

Distribution Assistant

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for a motivated Distribution Assistant to join our distribution team. The Distribution Assistant actively supports all aspects of Lucigen's operations activities for receiving and preparing product for domestic and international shipment in accordance with Lucigen's ISO 13485 quality systems. This is a full-time, temporary opportunity with our team.

The Distribution Assistant will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Excellence in Shipping & Receiving
  • Retrieve and prepare product for domestic and international shipment following supervisor's direction
  • Participate in physical inventory activities, such as routine cycle counts, to maintain inventory integrity
  • Support distribution activities as needed
Attention to Detail
  • Fill and package products under direct supervision following SOP's and written instructions that meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure production supplies and inventory are properly labeled and stored
  • Accurately apply labels to packaging materials
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in relevant life sciences or operations field—or applicable education and industry experience (pharma, biotech, or medical device)

Customer Service Representative

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for an enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our customer service team on a part-time, temporary basis. The Representative will serve as primary contact for processing all incoming catalog orders, including inquiries via telephone, email, direct order entry, and electronic data interchange systems. This is a part-time, temporary opportunity with our team.

The Customer Service Representative will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Approachability & Customer Focus
  • Respond positively to and expeditiously process all incoming telephone inquiries and orders; adhere to SOP's and departmental training guidelines
  • Respond quickly and professionally to all customer inquiries, including pricing, availability, order status, shipping details, etc.
  • Acknowledge customer orders; advise customers on order changes, order status, backorders, quote prices, and any other changes; process and route orders for shipping
  • Support all global sales activities, including distributors, as may be requested by the Manager
Commitment to Quality
  • Follow established service quality standards and meet order accuracy standards
  • Assess individual customer requirements and direct activities to appropriate departments
  • Utilize sales order entry system, catalogs, price lists and sales aids to provide accurate information to customers, including interpreting quotes and promotions and credit policies
  • Provide required documentation related to each particular order to meet shipping schedules (i.e. material safety data sheets, certificates of analysis, custom orders etc.)
  • Process customers' orders and ensure completeness of specifications, prices, location, and other relevant information for both product and custom orders
Integrity of Records & Data
  • Process credit card payments using payment portal, ensuring privacy of customer's account information
  • Maintain the customer database system (CRM) by entering new customer leads or by updating customer information as may be required
  • Utilize sales order entry system, catalogs, price lists and sales aids to provide accurate information to customers, including interpreting quotes and promotions and credit policies
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year's experience in customer service or related field
  • As the frontline to our internal and external customers, the ideal candidate must be highly focused on customer service, proactive, and able to problem solve effectively
  • Time management as it relates to workload vis-a-vis required response times is critical to success in this position

Product Manager, Instruments

Location: Alexandria, MN (LGC Douglas Scientific)

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for a Product Manager to join our instruments and reagents product management team. This opportunity is located in Alexandria, MN with LGC Douglas Scientific. The Manager will have business ownership for assigned product categories, which entails planning and executing the product portfolio pipeline, sales support, and program management of assigned product line(s) or technologies. This individual will also serve as the marketing representative on cross-functional product development teams, specifically leading commercial input to drive new product development, and defining our value propositions for compelling positioning in key workflows are critical elements of the job role.

The Product Manager will have responsibility to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Technical Acumen
  • Translate voice of customer into product requirements, working across functions to provide the commercial input to new product development progress
  • For existing and new products, educate both internal and external stakeholders on our product features and their benefits; deliver training and tools to our sales teams as needed
  • Provide product application training, including competitive responses for all sales channels
  • Manage product master data and ensure data quality and consistency for the portfolio; drive new product registration on internal systems
Full-Cycle Product Management
  • Manage full product life cycle, including product discontinuation strategies, to ensure a seamless customer experience and smooth revenue transition
  • Ultimate responsibility for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives of their portfolio
  • Under multi-year product roadmap, serve as business owner for the new product development within the portfolio
  • Lead new product direction and the launch of new products and services, delivering on business plan objectives and customer acceptance of new products
  • Measure and optimise the buyer journey as it relates to product feature adoption and usage; create case studies and customer success stories
  • Create product marketing collateral and content such as sales documentation, product videos, website copy, blog posts, brochures, on-line guides and other forums
Relationship Building
  • Partner with the Strategic Marketing Manager to develop a multi-year product roadmap and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of product platforms
  • Work closely with our sales team and external opinion leaders to understand product acceptance and prepare business cases identifying gaps and threats to product adoption
  • Speak and present both internally and externally to promote the story of our products
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in life science with concentrated training in specified area
  • Previous experience in regional marketing, product marketing, and/or product management
  • Experience with building product roadmaps and an understanding of product life cycle management and its application to product portfolio
  • Experience with new product development processes, including product launch and commercialization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as there is an extensive amount of writing, presenting, and selling of ideas in this role
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. This role requires work across functions and departments to bring the product to life. This individual will be at the center of the organization interacting with teammates and prospects.
