Quality Assurance Manager

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to join our Middleton team. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining, monitoring and improving the processes and support processes for product realization in collaboration with process owners and in compliance with site and divisional quality systems. Some of these processes include product design verification, validation, and transfer; production, quality control (QC), batch record review and release; supplier qualification and monitoring; process and test method validation; and process changes. Support processes include complaint and nonconformance management, internal audit, risk management, document control, quality records management, and corrective action and preventive action. The QA Manager will provide technical leadership within the quality discipline, driving adherence to quality standards and systems and maintaining high levels of customer focus.

The QA Manager will have responsibility to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the QA department and the execution/improvement of its quality management system (QMS) responsibilities to support the organization's commercial and development activities, while also ensuring compliance with ISO13485 and applicable regulatory standards
  • Provide leadership to QA staff in establishing career development and appropriate training plans in the quality discipline and in enhancing skills in data analysis, risk management approaches, and investigations for root cause determination
  • Responsible for personnel activities of direct reports including: budgeting, staffing, training, performance evaluations, and goal setting including setting employee objectives linked to business initiatives and other key performance indicators
  • Remain current and proficient with quality regulations and guidelines, advising the management team of the business implications of any changes
  • Conduct or direct internal and external audits and evaluations per QMS requirements
  • Maintain technical and analytic standards applicable to our products
  • Responsible for maintenance of document control, including release and changes (develop of structure and content, review and approval), for all QMS-related documentation such as quality manual, standard operating procedures, device master record (including test methods) and batch history records
  • In cooperation with Operations and R&D leadership, ensure the effective management of the design control process with special emphasis on risk management and design transfer activities
  • In cooperation with Operations leadership, ensure the effective management of the supplier qualification and monitoring process
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, quality, operations management or other applicable degree with life sciences experience
  • 10+ years' experience in the life science industry with preferred emphasis in the regulated life sciences (e.g. in vitro diagnostics or medical device)
  • 7+ years' experience in a quality function and in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Must have a demonstrated track record to lead, manage, and motivate team members through direct line management or influence
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience in risk management, especially as applied to process change and design change management
  • Demonstrated experience in performing risk analysis (e.g. FMEA, FTA, Risk Ranking/Filtering) throughout the product lifecycle and a strong base for applying risk management throughout QMS in alignment with ISO 13485:2016
  • Extensive analytical problem solving skills, strong knowledge in supporting site validation master plan
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts preferred
  • Proven project management skills
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfort interacting with senior internal and external personnel on plant processes, projects and investigations
  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PPT, and Project
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, possess an ability to adapt to change in the environment, and have proven ability to exert influence in a directive and positive manner

Inside Sales Representative

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join our U.S. inside sales team. The Representative will assist the sales organization with customer-focused efforts and programs to create and drive opportunities in targeted regions and/or accounts and provide excellent support to new and existing customers.

The Inside Sales Representative will have responsibility to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Customer Focus
  • Work closely and in collaboration with Field Sales and B2B team to enhance working relationships with key accounts
  • Engage with existing customers and inbound qualified sales leads, and guide customers to the products that best meet needs
  • Support Marketing, Field Sales, and the B2B team with necessary technical and business content to create a competitive differentiation and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectation
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive relationships with customers, including management and purchasing contacts; nurture and grow client relationships at the appropriate levels
  • Provide interim territory coverage as a sales representative as needed within assigned region
  • Organize and host client visits as required
  • Work with Manager on customer-focused initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the inside sales team
Sales Development
  • Effectively handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and triage to appropriate sales rep or manager when necessary
  • Follow up on new customer leads, sample requests, webinars and tradeshow leads to ensure touch point with all customers for cross selling ("warm up" leads for Field Sales)
  • Assist in profiling accounts and generating leads; collaborate effectively with the entire sales organization to bring potential opportunities to closure
  • Cold-call (telephone) prospects generated by external sources, identify leads, and initiate contact to generate knowledge about landscape
  • Provide general intelligence on key competitors
  • In partnership with Marketing, support initiatives for social selling and outbound projects, including but not limited to LinkedIn, e-blasts, tradeshows, and (web) conferences; may attend tradeshows and conferences as required from time to time
Data Management
  • Capture voice of customer and share with appropriate stakeholders (marketing, R&D, sales, etc.); establish and maintain ongoing communication and operational mechanisms to ensure collaboration and exchange of appropriate information (customer insights, market trends, and competitive data)
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the customer database (CRM)
  • Manage opportunities using CRM to document customer information and track opportunities
  • Leverage marketing resources, such as flyers, posters, application notes, and other applicable materials, to heighten customer's awareness of Lucigen's products and services
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (preferred), Business, or Marketing
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service
  • Experience in the life science industry strongly preferred; specific areas of knowledge to focus on molecular biology
  • Demonstrated skill set in effective sales process and deal closure
  • Proven, effective time management, reporting , prioritization and delegation skills
  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills to drive successful relationship building
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience reporting and tracking sales metrics
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably using Salesforce.com CRM, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills; ability to effectively listen, acknowledge, and show calm when dealing with customers and company personnel on all level issues/complaints
  • High-energy and positive "can-do" approach when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills while working under pressure

International Sales Coordinator

Lucigen, now a part of LGC, Biosearch Technologies, is looking for a driven International Sales Coordinator to join our Middleton team. The International Sales Coordinator provides administrative and management support to LGC, Biosearch Technologies' distribution network, both domestic and international, as well as support to international customers. This position requires excellent customer interaction with both internal and external customers.

The International Sales Coordinator will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Customer Focus
  • Provide support to internal and external customers as needed, spoken and in writing
  • Respond to distributors' inquiries regarding pricing, marketing tools, re-direct technical questions, or special projects such as logistics planning & preparations for distributor meetings
  • Work closely with internal departments (i.e. Operations, Shipping, Customer Service, etc.) to coordinate key initiatives in support of the customer and to achieve superior customer satisfaction
  • Organize and host client visits, or company events as required
  • Work with Global Distribution Director on customer-focused initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team
Communications Experience
  • Capture marketing and sales announcements, or corporate updates to develop monthly newsletter for distributors and distribute the newsletter in electronic format to entire distribution network
  • Prepare, edit, and post any other company announcements as necessary and organize information to improve and facilitate distributor access to information and tools as needed
  • Assist with product launch-related activities to ensure successful product launch through distribution channels and web portal partners
Organizational Skills
  • Organize and track information pertaining to distributor network, such as quarterly sales report, forecasts, marketing & sales annual plans; assist with the implementation and tracking of distributor report card assessment tool
  • Update price lists and distribute to channels accordingly
  • Assist with local or international trade/vendor shows, conferences, and events as needed
  • Assist supervisor with travel arrangements and other administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service role
  • Industry experience (life sciences, biotech) or experience working in a global organization preferred
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, prior exposure to supporting a team or group of people in an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal and listening skills; ability to effectively listen, acknowledge, and show calm when dealing with customers on all level issues/complaints
  • High-energy and positive "can-do" approach when dealing with internal and external customers; ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
  • Qualified candidates must also demonstrate excellent organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to effectively work on many priorities at one time, which change frequently
