Product Manager

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, is looking for a Product Manager to join our growing NGS product management team. The Manager will have business ownership for assigned product categories, which entails planning and executing the product portfolio pipeline, sales support, and program management of assigned product line(s) or technologies. This individual will also serve as the marketing representative on cross-functional product development teams, specifically leading commercial input to drive new product development, and defining our value propositions for compelling positioning in key workflows are critical elements of the job role.

The Product Manager will have responsibility to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Technical Acumen
  • Translate voice of customer into product requirements, working across functions to provide the commercial input to new product development progress
  • For existing and new products, educate both internal and external stakeholders on our product features and their benefits; deliver training and tools to our sales teams as needed
  • Provide product application training, including competitive responses for all sales channels
  • Manage product master data and ensure data quality and consistency for the portfolio; drive new product registration on internal systems
Full-Cycle Product Management
  • Manage full product life cycle, including product discontinuation strategies, to ensure a seamless customer experience and smooth revenue transition
  • Ultimate responsibility for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives of their portfolio
  • Under multi-year product roadmap, serve as business owner for the new product development within the portfolio
  • Lead new product direction and the launch of new products and services, delivering on business plan objectives and customer acceptance of new products
  • Measure and optimise the buyer journey as it relates to product feature adoption and usage; create case studies and customer success stories
  • Create product marketing collateral and content such as sales documentation, product videos, website copy, blog posts, brochures, on-line guides and other forums
Relationship Building
  • Partner with the Strategic Marketing Manager to develop a multi-year product roadmap and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of product platforms
  • Work closely with our sales team and external opinion leaders to understand product acceptance and prepare business cases identifying gaps and threats to product adoption
  • Speak and present both internally and externally to promote the story of our products
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in life science with concentrated training in specified area
  • Previous experience in regional marketing, product marketing, and/or product management
  • Experience with building product roadmaps and an understanding of product life cycle management and its application to product portfolio
  • Experience with new product development processes, including product launch and commercialization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as there is an extensive amount of writing, presenting, and selling of ideas in this role
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. This role requires work across functions and departments to bring the product to life. This individual will be at the center of the organization interacting with teammates and prospects.

Accounting Coordinator

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, is looking for an enthusiastic Accounting Coordinator to join our finance team. This individual will have responsibility to coordinate and process all company accounts receivable for the company. The Accounting Coordinator will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Process Coordination
  • Ensure the timely processing of all Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices and customer statements
  • Process AR credit card payments and remittances
  • Assist with monthly general ledger journal entries
Customer Focus
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries regarding AR
  • Coordination with customers and internal sales representatives regarding customer credit applications and AR collections
  • Ad hoc AR research and other accounting tasks as needed
Attention to Detail
  • Process all bank deposits, and reconcile company bank statements
  • Maintenance of AR procedure documentation
  • Work with management for estimates of weekly cash collection
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • General understanding of accounting principles commensurate with 2+ years of accounting training or experience, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of personal computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Great Plains Dynamics

Customer Service Representative

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, is looking for an enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our growing customer service team. The Representative will serve as primary contact for processing all incoming catalog orders, including inquiries via telephone, email, direct order entry and electronic data interchange systems. The position also provides specialized support to key strategic customers.

The Customer Service Representative will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Approachability & Customer Focus
  • Respond positively to and expeditiously process all incoming telephone inquiries and orders; adhere to SOP's and departmental training guidelines
  • Respond quickly and professionally to all customer inquiries, including pricing, availability, order status, shipping details, etc.
  • Acknowledge customer orders; advise customers on order changes, order status, backorders, quote prices, and any other changes; process and route orders for shipping
  • Support all global sales activities, including distributors, as may be requested by Department Head
Commitment to Quality
  • Follow established service quality standards and meet order accuracy standards
  • Assess individual customer requirements and direct activities to appropriate departments
  • Utilize sales order entry system, catalogs, price lists and sales aids to provide accurate information to customers, including interpreting quotes and promotions and credit policies
  • Provide required documentation related to each particular order to meet shipping schedules (i.e. material safety data sheets, certificates of analysis, custom orders etc.)
  • Process customers' orders and ensure completeness of specifications, prices, location, and other relevant information for both product and custom orders
Integrity of Records & Data
  • Process credit card payments using payment portal, ensuring privacy of customer's account information
  • Maintain the customer database system (CRM) by entering new customer leads or by updating customer information as may be required
  • Utilize sales order entry system, catalogs, price lists and sales aids to provide accurate information to customers, including interpreting quotes and promotions and credit policies
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year's experience in customer service or related field
  • As the frontline to our internal and external customers, the ideal candidate must be highly focused on customer service, proactive, and able to problem solve effectively
  • Time management as it relates to workload vis-a-vis required response times is critical to success in this position

Distribution Assistant

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, is looking for enthusiastic Distribution Assistants to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Assistant will be a primary point person responsible for receiving and preparing product for domestic and international shipment in accordance with Lucigen's ISO 13485 quality systems.

The Distribution Assistant will have responsibility to meet or exceed the individual objectives as follows:

Sound Judgment & Reliability
  • Retrieve and prepare product for domestic and international shipment following supervisor's direction
  • Participate in physical inventory activities, such as routine cycle counts, to maintain inventory integrity
  • Support distribution activities as needed
Attention to Detail
  • Fill and package products under direct supervision following SOP's and written instructions that meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure production supplies and inventory are properly labeled and stored
  • Accurately apply labels to packaging materials
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in relevant life sciences or operations field—or applicable education and industry experience (pharma, biotech, or medical device)
  • Strong interest in working in a manufacturing environment in a biotech or life-sciences organization

Inside Sales Manager

Lucigen, now a part of LGC Genomics, is looking for an Inside Sales Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. The Manager will play a lead role in supporting the entire sales organization by implementing programs and managing the entire customer buying journey and supporting efforts. This individual will lead customer-focused efforts and programs in collaboration with an energetic team of field sales and business development professionals to create and drive Lucigen's sales opportunities in targeted regions and/or accounts. The Manager is expected to foster a strong customer-focused culture that complies with all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern our business globally.

The Inside Sales Manager will have responsibility for providing direction and focus to meet or exceed the LGC Genomics business unit objectives as follows:

Collaborative Leadership
  • Contribute actively to commercial & marketing initiatives/opportunities, especially those initiatives focused on driving incremental business growth
  • Design, implement, and manage processes that allow the team to effectively cover both inbound and outbound calls; activities include engaging with existing customers and inbound qualified sales leads, guiding customers to the products that best meet needs, and coordinating with internal team to address customer questions or objections
  • Ensure the effective use of sales process and approved product marketing and promotion materials
  • Work closely with internal departments (i.e. Operations, Customer Service, etc.) to coordinate on key initiatives in support of the customer and to achieve superior customer satisfaction
  • In partnership with Marketing, support initiatives for social selling and outbound projects including but not limited to LinkedIn, e-blasts, web conferences, tradeshows and conferences participation; may attend tradeshows and conferences as required from time to time
  • Work with VP, Marketing & Sales on customer-focused initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the inside sales team
Analytical Aptitude
  • Monitor and report key business metrics or other sales reporting that may be requested; analyze statistics or other data to determine the level of goal achievement
  • Capture voice-of-customer and share with appropriate stakeholders (Marketing, R&D, Sales, etc.); establish and maintain ongoing communication and team operating mechanisms to ensure appropriate information (customer insights, market trends, and competitive data) is shared and collaboration within and outside of the team is taking place
  • Provide general intelligence on key competitors
  • Participate in proposal scope development as appropriate
Relationship Management
  • Work closely and in collaboration with Field Sales and the business-to-business (B2B) team to enhance working relationships with key accounts and to assist in profiling accounts, generating and qualifying leads, and meeting sales objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive relationships with customers, including management and supply contacts; nurture and grow client relationships at the appropriate levels
  • Responsible for opportunity management using CRM to document customer information and track opportunities; assign tasks to inside sales team as applicable
  • Leverage marketing resources, such as flyers, posters, application notes, and other applicable materials, to heighten customer's awareness of Lucigen's products and services
  • Organize and host client visits as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in a sales, account management, or customer service role
  • Experience managing an inside sales team
  • Demonstrated skillset in effective sales process and deal closure
  • Proven, effective time management, reporting, prioritization and delegation skills
  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal and networking skills to drive successful relationship building
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with demonstrated experience reporting and tracking sales metrics
  • Must have a solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably using Microsoft Dynamics GP, and have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Salesforce CRM system

Inside Sales Representative

Lucigen seeks a self-motivated and attentive team player to serve as an inside sales representative leading customer onboarding, customer support, and customer satisfaction efforts for Lucigen's products and services. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely and in collaboration with Field Sales and B2B team to enhance working relationships with key accounts
  • Assist in profiling accounts and generating leads; collaborate effectively with the entire sales organization to bring potential opportunities to closure
  • Effectively handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and triage to appropriate sales rep or manager when necessary
  • Follow up on new customer leads, sample requests, webinars and tradeshow leads to ensure touch point with all customers for cross selling ("warm up" leads for Field Sales)
  • Engage with existing customers and inbound qualified sales leads, and guide customers to the products that best meet needs
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the customer database (CRM)
  • Cold-call (telephone) prospects generated by external sources, identify leads, and initiate contact to generate knowledge about landscape
  • Provide interim territory coverage as a sales representative as needed within assigned region
